I started the challenge of getting my body back exactly six weeks after having baby Grey. I consistently went to the gym two times a week for about three months, then down to once a week until I completely stop going do to just the logistics of work, gym, pre-k etc… You know how much I love working out especially with my favorite trainer Greg Barlow, Owner of 3P Athletics but its just not in the cards now due to location and scheduling conflicts.
So, Hubs started working one his home gym and has acquired a lot of equipment and basics needed to get home workouts done in the time being. One of the reasons I love working out with a trainer is direction given during the workouts. They can make sure your moves are effective, they motivate and educate you. I’m not an expert on fitness so given my schedule and needing that direction, youtube was my next thought to help workouts in. I plop my laptop on the floor or on the kicthen island and get er done.
I love varied workouts, switching up frequently is one of the keys to get in shape and losing weight and keeping me interested. Using Youtube gives me the pick of everything! Body part target workouts, like glute or back sessions and they even have videos to teach you to stretch or warm up which is super important! When embarking on a fitness journey, it can be so hard to know where to start! Find out what type of setting you feel most comfortable in and just do it! *health experts suggest that you talk to your doctor before you start any exercise program.
As a Mom just thinking about adding something to the plate like working out can seem tough but I promise you will feel so much better physically and mentally getting this 10, 15, 20 or 30 minute carved out piece of time to focus on yourself. All this trickles down to family, work and more!
