Check out the contents of my hospital bag! In my opinion, hospital bags are not one size fits all because every person another brith experience and preferences are different. No bag exists that is perfect for everyone but you can personally pack it perfect for you.
If I can give any advice on packing it would be to start with checking with your hospital/insurance to see what is covered. Since I’m out of the first time Mom category and have given birth at the same hospital twice with a tour included the contents of what it’s in my bag are catered perfect for me.
Check out my video for first time and veteran Moms who hate to pack or still have no idea what to take to the hospital.
I love the hospital mesh underwear…yup sure do. Why? They’re disposable and I can ruin them and throw them away. Hospital Pads? Will be using them because there’s a reason they provide the ones they do…they work and I’m paying for them. Your girl even takes a bunch home. If you’re breastfeeding and pumping, ask for the hospital’s and most likely they’re using the same brand as you. What comes with that? Free supplies for your own pump-tubing, little bottles, flanges etc…
Call ahead or ask during your tour what brand of diaper wipes they use and plan on using theirs unless baby reacts- so for this particular item bring a small pack of a non sensitive brand of choice. My hospital uses Pampers Swaddlers and I loooooove them!
Here’s my checklist that gets me started when packing my bag. Let me know if you have any questions or comments about what to take. Remember if you want to haul everything you own in there…do it! We have a pass to feel our best while going through the amazing task of bringing a child into this world.
Do what makes you comfortable.
